A call went out to 1400 pastors assembled at the Bethlehem Pastors Conference in 2006. Dr. John Piper and David Sitton prayed for a tithe of the pastors to leave their pulpits and join the task of getting the gospel to the nations. Ron and Margie Sanford were among that tithe. After 31 years of pastoral ministry in New York, New Jersey, and Illinois, the Sanfords joined the staff of To Every Tribe to focus on administration, pastoral care, and teaching at the Center for Pioneer Church Planting. For the last 23 years, the Sanfords pastored a church in West Chicago, IL. During their tenure they became close friends with the staff of the North Central Regional Office of Wycliffe Bible Translators. Observing Wycliffe’s operations, hosting the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement class, and reading books by John Piper enlarged their vision for reaching the nations. Although they were committed to raising people within their congregation to go, they began to sense God was calling them to become more directly involved in sending missionaries to the nations. The Sanfords settled in Los Fresnos in August 2008. They are excited about their work with To Every Tribe and are particularly looking forward to developing relationships with To Every Tribe’s future missionaries in the classroom and on trips to Mexico and Papua New Guinea. The Sanfords have been married for 35 years and are blessed to be the parents of two married sons, a 19 year-old daughter, and two grandchildren. The Sanford's Updates
