David has two roles at To Every Tribe. He serves as Consultant to the President and teaches classes at the Center for Pioneer Church Planting (CPCP) -- theology, spiritual warfare and Ephesians. David’s educational background is diverse, obtaining his BS degree from Texas A&M University and an MS from Texas A&M at Kingsville. He also has an MDiv degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He has been employed as a teacher, a pastor, and in human resources (now retired) from Motorola, Inc., in Austin, Texas. After retirement, David Harrell joined with David and Tommi Sitton and the staff of To Every Tribe to help start the CPCP. Teaching and working with the staff, board of directors and gifted instructors has been a wonderful blessing from God in his life.
David believes very strongly that the gospel of Jesus Christ must be preached to every nation and every people group. That was the Lord’s last command to the church. The ultimate objective, however, in all that is attempted and done must be the glory of God. There is no greater goal than manifesting this through the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
David writes, “We must follow the examples of those who have gone before us, whom the Scriptures hold up for us to emulate. We see this all through Paul’s Epistle to the Philippians, “And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” (Phil. 1:9-11, ESV)
Paul lays it out for us that we are to be growing in love, but love that is based in knowledge and discernment in order that what we approve will be the most excellent things of all. And all this for the purpose that we should be filled with the fruit of righteousness that is ours through Jesus Christ. All of it is for the glory and praise of God! That’s it! That’s what I see that we are about at To Every Tribe!
There are people whose lives are steeped in darkness who have never heard of the grace of God that is ours in Christ Jesus. They will not hear unless someone goes and tells them, and no one will go unless God sends them. It is a marvelous privilege to be a part of this exciting, God-glorifying, and Christ-exalting ministry.”
