Before joining the To Every Tribe staff in the summer of 2009, AJ and Ruth were missionaries for five years in Monterrey, Mexico.  Their goal was to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations of the world through church planting and the training of young men and national pastors for local church ministry.  AJ and Ruth are very excited to continue working on the front lines of Christian missions through the pioneer church planting ministry of To Every Tribe and the Center for Pioneer Church Planting.  There is no greater privilege than to give one’s life to the spread of the message of the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 4:6) to the sin-darkened nations of the world.

AJ and Ruth both grew up in ministry families and met in college where they were both preparing to serve the Lord in full-time ministry.  AJ grew up in South Texas and Northern Mexico where his parents have served as missionaries since 1971.  Ruth was raised in a pastor’s home in the U.S.  They were married in 1996 and have two boys, Jonathan (7) and Christian (5), and one daughter, Katelyn.
